EXPERT RESPONSE
If this is with respect to a wireless LAN, no VPN is necessary, since there's no public network involved. Just use a peer mode connection and make sure security (WPA at a minimum) is enabled. If this is over a wide-area connection, it would be hard to recommend such a solution -- it's just too complex. It would be better to set up a server for the VPN and have all of the peers relay through there. This can easily be done with an appropriate router.
